Board of Directors
Mark Fischione, M.D. was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He
graduated from the University of Detroit/Mercy in 1981, with a Bachelor
of Science, and from American University of the Caribbean in 1985,
with a Doctorate of Medicine. Upon graduation from medical school,
he returned to the states to perform his residency in anatomic and
clinical pathology at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, Wayne
State University, in Detroit Michigan. Here he discovered a love
of teaching that brought him to the Allied Health Department of
Marygrove College, where he worked as an adjunct professor throughout
residency. Feeling a strong desire to further his knowledge and
develop a deeper understanding of pathology, he pursued a fellowship
in Forensic Pathology at Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science,
Southwestern Medical School, University of Texas. He is board certified
in anatomic and forensic pathology. Completion of the forensic fellowship
in 1993 qualified Dr. Fischione for the position of Deputy Medical
Examiner of Oakland County, Michigan. He held this position until
July of 1996, when he relocated to accept the same position in Maricopa
County, Arizona. Here, he revisited his love of teaching, and was
hired as adjunct professor of pathology at the Arizona School of
Health Sciences. A favorite of students and faculty alike, he over
took professorship of many classes, and was soon asked to sign on
as a full time staff member.
