Limited Edition Giclee
Giclee is a state of the art technology in making prints. Because no screens are used, the prints have a higher apparent resolution than lithographs. The dynamic color range is like serigraphy. If you put a Giclee print on canvas next to the original painting, it is almost impossible to tell them apart. Colors and the fine detail lines are essential elements of Rassouli's paintings. That is why he has selected the Giclee process to be able to present the closest to the original quality reproductions. Each print is a result of his personal collaboration with the printer. Before the final images are made, he checks several levels of prints for approval of quality, colors, lines and vibrancy. This process of proofing an image, observing the output of the printer and adjusting color and detail sometimes takes weeks to finalize. After final print has been made, a layer of UV light retardant and light stabilizer post-coatings is applied to the canvas for its durability.
The size of the edition of giclee on canvas for each image is shown next to the title of the artwork every canvas is individually signed and numbered by Rassouli. Limited Edition Giclee on canvas are available for the following (click on the name to get a larger view of the print):
Artist Enhanced
Artist enhanced is a giclee printed on canvas through the process explained above. After the final
print has been made, and a layer of UV light retardant has been applied to it, Rassouli takes the print and adds his personal touches to it. This process of hand embellishing makes the artwork one of a kind, and different from other works created in the same manner.
After the work has been completed, Rassouli signs and numbers each canvas individually. The results
are museum-quality prints that are hard to tell from the originals. Accompanying each artist enhanced
work is a certificate of authenticity signed by Rassouli and issued to the name of the purchaser.
Only 27 artist enhanced versions of each image is available. These images usually sell very quickly resulting in increased value as the collection gets closer to the end.
