MISS Foundation board member, Dr. Charles Finch is the director of Camp Paz. Camp Paz is located in the cool, peaceful pines of Prescott, Arizona. We seek to reach out to bereaved children and provide a “caring presence” in the community. The weekend begins begins Saturday morning with introductions and a cookout. The children get to hike, play baseball and soccer, tie-dye shirts, and eat homemade chocolate chip cookies! The afternoon is filled with group discussions and moments alone in small groups. Saturday night begins with an opportunity for the children to speak with a physician who will answer questions in their own language. A candlelight ceremony follows where campers and counselors share memories, hopes, and dreams. Sunday is filled with more group discussions, grief-directed activities, and a talent show. Camp Paz finishes in the afternoon with the family members joining the children to share in the final festivities - farewell hugs, a picnic and a closing ceremony to remember… MISS will be sponsoring children to attend the next camp in April of 2000. To apply to attend Camp Paz or if you are interested in sponsoring a child to attend as part of the Kindness Project please contact Joanne at 623-979-1000.

A letter to Jordan Ashley Heffley...
Dear Jordan,
written by your big brother, Octobre 17, 1999
You are so pretty from the day we first saw you. Our hearts were hurting when I went home to spend the night. When I came back the next day, I saw my mom and dad crying for you. You were dead, and that was when my heart broke in half. I love you Jordan, we all love you, and that's the end.
