Leonardo

Leonardo and his sister Frida and are sibling pigs who came to the Selah Carefarm in January of 2026 after narrowly escaping abandonment in the desert. Too often, pigs are discarded when they grow larger than expected or require more care than someone anticipated. Leonardo and Frida were spared that fate because a compassionate individual intervened, providing temporary safety and appropriate space until they could be transported to us.

They arrived with little experience of human affection and with the understandable wariness of animals who have known uncertainty and even fear rather than consistency and safety. Even so, they are gentle, curious, and quietly attuned to their surroundings. With time, patience, and respectful care, Leonardo and Frida are learning that human presence can be steady and kind. They are now a cherished part of the Carefarmily, reminding us that safety is not something nonhuman animals forget overnight, but something they come to trust slowly, through repeated experiences of being protected and loved.
