Wilson

Wilson came to us in May of 2025 from a “stewardship” program where sadness is rebranded as “a learning experience,” and the moral friction that arises when affection meets profit is smoothed over with euphemisms such as, “processing,” “harvesting,” and “market readiness.” Children are praised not for protecting the vulnerable nonhuman animal they nurtured and raised, but for suppressing natural empathy on command. Wilson was scheduled to be sold, and the child who raised him loved him enough to send her father to the auction so that Wilson could be saved. His fate was certain death. Instead he found Selah Carefarm. He is loving and kind, a little shy at first, and blind in one eye. We are so glad Wilson made his way here and so very sad that around 500,000 nonhuman animals are not able to be saved.
