My background is in the area of counseling, although presently, I have devoted most of my time to being a stay at home mother. I am a writer and have assisted families with eulogy and obituary writing and enjoy facilitating Rites of Passage on occasion. I am interested in this training for a whole host of reasons – I first learned of the work of Elisabeth Kubler-Ross through my father – who was instrumental in establishing a Palliative Care Program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal. He is now 90 years old and is assisting yet again, in another Palliative Care project in Wasaga Beach, Ontario.
I would like to combine all my passions – for people, for the cycle of life – even in death,…for ‘story-catching”, for writing,…. and for practicing compassion – and this seems to be a training that can help me achieve that.
