Brianda Torres Conley

I currently offer individual therapy to adults through Cultivate Counseling, a group private practice located in Flagstaff, Arizona.
My passion is to center our multiplicities, to look deeper into our internal systems and their connections with the environments, relationships, lineages and socio-political contexts we are a part of. As a mixed race Latina, I am particularly drawn to therapeutic work that centers considerations of culture, identity and historical trauma. I am LGBTQIA2S+ affirming. My training and continued learning focuses on intersections of racialized and gender-based trauma with interpersonal trauma and disconnection.
My practice blends concepts and frameworks from talk therapy, liberation psychology, somatics/embodiment, narrative therapy, and parts work. EMDR is a therapeutic modality that I incorporate to support adaptive integration of impactful experiences and examination of painful beliefs we can carry about ourselves. I am especially influenced by the work of Prentis Hemphill, Natalie Gutierrez, Taiwo Afuape, Shawna Murray Browne, Amy Hyun Swart, and Dr. Shelly Harrell. At the time of writing this, I am working to deepen my capacities to explore our relationships to our bodies through certification training with the Center for Body Trust.
