Tammie Brenton
Volunteer Coordinator
Hello everyone! My name is Tammie, and what connects me to all of you is missing my beautiful Madi girl. Madi bravely fought a lung disease and endured a double lung transplant on April 28, 2017. Tragically she died from rejection just 18 months later. She blessed us with two beautiful children, Adi and Brenton. We found the MISS Foundation just months after Madi died through the book Bearing the Unbearable and visited the Carefarm just seven months later. I can honestly say that it saved us as we found compassion, acceptance, and support to navigate this journey of grief, love and missing, and all it encompasses. I have completed both the initial Compassionate Bereavement Certification and the Advanced. I became a mentor in 2020 and later started helping Terri with intakes. I am certified as an End of LIfe Doula through INELDA. I also have a precious Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and together, we volunteer at our local hospital and area schools to bring comfort and joy to those in need. Additionally, I am in school getting my MSW and hope to bring what I have learned from my grief and the MISS Foundation to create a safe space in my community for grieving hearts. I am honored to continue volunteering and connecting those who are deeply hurting to all of you beautiful mentors who humbly and graciously volunteer your time and hearts to help others.
With compassion and always in honor of our loved ones,
Tammie (((Madi’s mom)))
