My name is Melissa Placide and my husband and I lost our son, Oliver, on June 27, 2015. He was born sleeping at 29 weeks due to severe, sudden on-set preeclampsia. This traumatic loss changed our lives forever. If I can offer support to another family who may have suffered a similar loss, then I want to be ready and available in the capacity of a HOPE volunteer with The MISS Foundation. I feel as though I have the compassion, empathy, experience and heart to sit with families in their grief and help them to absorb this life-altering event and move towards their “new normal”. This would mean so much to me, much more than I am able to put into words.
